How We Work
Our Installation Process
Free Site Assessment & Quote
We visit your property, assess access, slope and drainage, then provide a fixed written quote — no hidden extras, no surprises.
Site Preparation & Earthworks
Existing surface is removed if needed. We excavate to the correct depth, ensure proper fall for drainage, and compact the sub-base.
Formwork & Edge Restraints
Timber or steel formwork is set to the correct levels, shaping the edges and controlling the pour. Expansion joints are planned at this stage.
Steel Reinforcement
SL62 mesh or reo bars are placed to prevent cracking under load. Heavy vehicle access driveways receive additional steel and higher-strength mix.
Concrete Pour, Float & Finish
Ready-mix concrete arrives, is poured and floated level. Your chosen finish — broom, exposed aggregate, stamp or colour — is applied at this stage.
Curing, Sealing & Handover
A curing compound is applied to retain moisture and maximise strength. Once cured, we seal the surface, remove all formwork and clean up the site.
Built Right
Common Concrete Driveway Installation Mistakes (And How We Avoid Them)
A lot of driveway failures come down to poorly trained crews skipping steps to save time. Here's what separates a great driveway from one that cracks within 5 years — and how we make sure your install is done right:
- Skimping On The Sub-Base — Without a properly compacted gravel base, the slab will sink and crack. We always build a strong, stable foundation.
- Skipping Reinforcement — Concrete without steel mesh or rebar cracks under load. We reinforce every slab.
- Poor Drainage Planning — A driveway that pools water or directs it toward your home is a disaster. We set the falls correctly from day one.
- Pouring Too Thin — A residential driveway needs at least 100mm of concrete (more for heavy vehicles). We never cut corners on thickness.
- Inadequate Curing — Concrete that dries too fast cracks. We protect every slab during the critical curing window.
- Missing Control Joints — Without proper joints, concrete cracks randomly. We cut precise joints to control where any natural movement happens.
We've seen plenty of DIY and budget-installer disasters over the years. Our team's experience means you'll never have to worry about any of these issues.
Finish Options
Popular Concrete Finishes in Brisbane
Every finish has different aesthetic, texture and price characteristics. Our team will help you choose the right option for your budget, home style and usage requirements.
Plain / Broom Finish
The classic choice — clean, affordable and slip-resistant. Broom-finished concrete suits most residential driveways and holds up well in Brisbane weather.
From $130/m²Exposed Aggregate
Crushed stone and pebbles revealed after the surface mortar is washed away. Excellent texture, high slip resistance, and a premium decorative look.
From $150/m²Stamped Concrete
Pressed into patterns that mimic slate, brick, cobblestone or timber. Great visual impact at a fraction of the cost of natural materials.
From $170/m²Coloured Concrete
Integral colour pigments blended into the mix before pouring. Choose from earthy tones, greys, sandstone and more. Colour runs through the full depth.
From $145/m²Salt Finish
Rock salt is pressed into fresh concrete then washed out to leave a subtle pitted texture. Stylish, slip-resistant and budget-friendly.
From $135/m²

Common Questions
Brisbane Driveway FAQs
How long does a concrete driveway installation take?
Most residential driveways are completed in 1–2 days for the pour. However, allow 7 days before light vehicle use and 28 days for full strength curing.
How thick should my driveway be?
Standard residential driveways are 100mm thick with SL62 mesh. For heavy vehicles or trucks, we recommend 125–150mm with additional reo bar reinforcement.
When can I drive on my new concrete driveway?
We recommend waiting at least 7 days before light vehicle use (cars). For heavy vehicles or trucks, wait the full 28-day cure period.
Do I need a council permit for a new driveway?
In most Brisbane suburbs, a new residential driveway does not require a permit. However, if you are connecting to a kerb crossing or widening the crossover, Brisbane City Council approval may be required. We can advise you based on your specific situation.
How long will my concrete driveway last?
A properly installed and sealed concrete driveway in Brisbane will last 30–50 years with minimal maintenance. We back our work with a 10-year structural guarantee.
